Sheridan College’s most technologically advanced Energy Laboratory in Canada was developed, designed and Project Managed by Renteknik. The Lab uses customized SCADA Energy Management Software (EMS) to calculate and show energy balances between Renewable Generation Resources, an Energy Storage System and selected Loads on the Campus (Cafeteria, College Energy Lab and Pumping Station). The Lab provides a “Virtual micro Grid” and is integrated into the applied research and learning curriculum.
25 Capreol Court is a 38 storey Condo located in downtown Toronto. The building is cooled by a Chilled Water System with a 570 ton York Centrifugal Chiller. The goal of the Project was to analyze the existing System in order to maximize energy efficiency and improve System operation. Through low cost Energy Efficiency Measures (EEMs), Peak Demand was reduced by more than 80 kW and approximately 31.3% reduction in Electrical Energy Usage was achieved.
As part of their energy reduction initiative, the City of Burlington contracted Renteknik to analyze the Appleby Ice Centre’s existing Refrigeration System. Through Non-Capital adjustments and implementation measures alone Annual Energy Savings of 203,032 kWh (18.1% reduction) were achieved.
In the fall of 2012, Renteknik conducted a “Proof of Concept” Project on a selected Grocery Store in the Town of Oakville, Ontario to conduct an Energy Performance Analysis on the existing Medium and Low Temperature Refrigeration System. Based on the Analysis findings, initial energy efficiency measures achieved an Annual Energy Savings of 173,528 kWh or an 18.2% electricity reduction.
